CCI Partners with the FTC to Host the 2025 Florida Government Leadership and Modernization Summit

On October 28, the College of Communication and Information (CCI) partnered with the Florida Technology Council (FTC) to host the 2025 Florida Government Leadership and Modernization Summit (FGLMS) at the Turnbull Conference Center. The FGLMS invited innovators, policymakers, educators, and students alike to learn how innovation, cybersecurity, and digital modernization impact our local and state infrastructure.

“When government and industry come together on campus, our students see leadership and innovation in action. They meet professionals, hear about emerging challenges in areas like AI security and digital infrastructure, and gain insights that prepare them to become the next generation of Florida’s technology and communication leaders,” shared Ebe Randeree, CCI Associate Dean of Finance & Administration.

The collaboration between CCI and FTC connected students with opportunities and knowledge outside the classroom, inviting them to conversations about AI security and digital landscapes, and encouraging them to consider their role in the future of Florida technology.

The conference attracted some notable figures from the Florida technology scene, including Monica Corbin, Allegiant CEO & Owner David Clark, Florida Chief Inspector General Melinda Miguel, Florida Deputy Executive Director Keith Pruett, Christine Palmer, Florida Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie, Soar.llc CEO Joanne Gallagher, and FTC CEO and President James Taylor.

“The value of our conferences continues even after the event. Sponsorship profits are reinvested back into Florida through our nonprofit foundation to fund grants that deliver certifications, professional training, and education for state employees,” said Taylor.
