Internship Program Overview
The Unity 5K Spring Internship Program (January–April 2026) offers Florida State University students a meaningful opportunity to support a campus-led event presented in partnership with the College of Social Sciences and Public Policy and the Civil Rights Institute. Centered on community wellness and unity, the event relies on student leadership to help bring its mission to life.
Six (6) FSU interns will be selected to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, assisting with communications, marketing, volunteer operations, partnership development, campus engagement, and event logistics.
Internship Roles & Job Descriptions
Communications & Marketing Intern (2)
- Support social media content creation and scheduling
- Support campus outreach at FSU/FAMU/TSC
- Support volunteer and team recruitment messaging
Volunteer & Operations Intern (2)
- Recruit volunteers through student organizations, service groups, and departments
- Assist with management of volunteer spreadsheets, shifts, and communications
- Support ADA-compliance planning and accessible route preparation
- Track inventory, including signage, water stations, and setup materials
- Assist with Legacy Block Party logistics and day-before setup
Partnership Development and Sponsorship & Campus Engagement Intern (2)
- Assist with outreach to campus offices, departments, and community partners
- Support meetings with student organizations and civic groups
- Manage RSVP lists for the Unity Ceremony and special guest attendance
- Coordinate entertainment, vendors, and student groups for the Legacy Block Party
- Support cross-promotion with campus influencers and partner organizations
