The L.L. Schendel Clinic at the School of Communication Science & Disorders of The Florida State University is partnering with Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. to present a free seminar with hearing and communication screenings in recognition of May being the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association “Better Hearing and Speech Month.”

The events take place on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tallahassee Senior Center Ballroom, 1400 N. Monroe Street, Tallahassee. All ages are welcome.   Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. presents How to Obtain a Free Amplified Phone

• 4:30–5:00 p.m.
  Presentation on the importance of building literacy skills in children by Dr. Kenn Apel, The Power of Literacy

• 5:00–7:00 p.m.
  Continued screenings and amplified phone distribution
