Recently, iSchool professor Dr. Marcia A. Mardis, was recognized by Provost Sally McRorie for receiving a Fulbright Core Award from the Council of International Exchange of Scholars (CIES). FSU makes it a priority to reward faculty who receive the highest levels of recognition in academia. Following Top American Research Universities (TARU), a system set up by the National Research Council (NRC), FSU rewards faculty who receive NRC-ranked awards. Dr. Mardis will conduct her research at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta as the Fulbright Canada Research Chair in Education. For this project, Dr. Mardis will be looking at how career and technical education (CTE) teachers are recruited and educated, work that is related to NSF-funded research she has been doing with the FS Information Institute since 2013.
