Recently, Dr. Yunjung Kim, an associate professor for the School of Communication Science and Disorders, was appointed Associate Editor for the Journal of Communication Disorders which publishes original peer-reviewed research and other scholarly articles on topics related to disorders of speech, language, and hearing. In addition to being an SCSD associate professor, Dr. Kim also directs the FSU Motor Speech Laboratory which studies acoustic and kinematic characteristics of talkers with and without neurogenic diseases.
Previously, Dr. Kim has served as a guest reviewer for the Journal of Communication Disorders as well as a guest editor, handling editor, and editorial board member for other journals in the field of speech language pathology such as the Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research; American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology; and Clinical Archives of Communication Disorders.
Dr. Yunjung Kim will now serve a three year term as the Associate Editor for the journal. On the exciting new role, she stated, “It is a great honor and pleasure to join the editorial management team of the journal. In my new role as Associate Editor, I plan to dedicate my time to encouraging all those in the field of communication disorders to submit high-quality publications to our journal in both areas of basic and clinical science. My responsibilities also include curating special issues for the journal, which I am excited to start brainstorming about.”
