SLIS Assistant Professor Marcia Mardis presented a poster with CCI staff member Casey McLaughlin and undergrad IT student Grant Gingell at the Joint Conference on Digital Libraries, George Washington University, June 10-12.
The poster, “Sharing and Using STEM Digital Content in School Libraries,” relates recent research in Mardis’ IMLS Early Career Researcher grant project (2009-2013), Digital Libraries to School Libraries (DL2SL), and the Web2MARC tool that the team has created for digital content integration in school library catalogs.
“It’s exciting to see this work take shape,” principal investigator Mardis said, “It has truly been a team effort that reflects the quality of education our students receive at CCI.” Mardis’ work with this team has been supported by the iDigInfo Institute and the PALM Center at SLIS.
Also presenting a poster, “Data Determination, Disambiguation, and Referencing in Molecular Biology,” were SLIS faculty member Besiki Stivila and doctoral students Shuheng Wu and Dong Joon Lee. Doctoral students Yong Jeong Yi and Ji Hei Kang completed the group of SLIS presenters with their research poster, “Do Public Library Websites Consider the Disabled or Senior Citizens?”
