Recently, School of Information doctoral student and graduate teaching assistant Lateef Ayinde was invited to become an Editorial Board member of the Business Information Review Journal. The Business Information Review (BIR), managed by Sage Publications, is an academic and professional journal that typically focuses on information provision and management. Ayinde joined the Editorial Board a few months ago in reviewing articles published by the journal.
Ayinde’s research interests surround the use of data and technology to solve societal and ethical problems. His current research specifically addresses the relationship between open government and social and technological factors. He shared with CCI that he is extremely excited for this new opportunity with BIR, stating, “This is a great opportunity for me to learn more about how editorial boards function effectively. I will also have a chance to build on the knowledge I have already gained through my program.”
When asked about what is next for him, Ayinde shared that he is a part of a group of doctoral students that will be presenting a paper at the I-Conference this March in Barcelona, Spain. “It is one of the biggest conferences in the information world that brings all information professionals together. Having accomplished this in my second year as a doctoral student is an amazing accomplishment for me,” Ayinde explained.
