Florida State University’s School of Information now offers a combined Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Information Technology, which will allow motivated and academically talented undergraduate students the opportunity to pursue both degrees in a shorter time span.
Students accepted to this combined program may count up to 12 units of graduate coursework toward both the BSIT and the MSIT degrees.
The combined BSIT/MSIT program allows eligible students to:
- Count up to 12 graduate-level credit hours toward both the BSIT and MSIT degrees.
- Complete both the BSIT and MSIT degrees in a shorter time span.
- Apply undergraduate tuition assistance (e.g., Bright Futures, Florida Pre-Paid) to graduate courses.
- Explore graduate coursework as an undergraduate student, easing the transition to graduate school.
Undergraduate students interested in enrolling in the combined BSIT/MSIT program must be currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at the School of Information. Prospective students must also meet the program’s minimum requirements, which include a 3.0 grade-point average in major coursework and official test results from a nationally standardized graduate admissions entrance exam.
Interested students should follow the steps below:
Step 1: Make an appointment to meet with the BSIT undergraduate advisor to discuss eligibility once 60+ hours of coursework toward the BSIT degree has been completed.
Step 2: Complete the Supplemental Application to begin the application process to the BSIT/MSIT program by April 1 of your junior year.
Step 3: Take the GRE and submit the University Graduate Admissions Application by April 1 of your senior year.
