Florida State University’s School of Communication Science & Disorders (SCSD) served as the host program for the annual Southeastern University Clinical Educators (SEUCE) conference at the Wyndham Bay Point in Panama City Beach, Fla., on Sept. 26-27.
SEUCE is an organization of clinic directors and clinical educators in speech pathology and audiology from programs in the southeastern United States. This year’s conference was attended by 40 clinical educators from programs in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina an Texas.
FSU SCSD faculty members in attendance were Lisa Scott, Ellen Nimmons, Susan Maddox, Linda Walker, Debra Katz, Selena Snowden and Catherine Johnson, as well as Polly Bohannon, who is a community clinical educator and supervises students at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
Presentations focused on topics related to clinical education: curriculum, innovative methods for didactic and clinical instruction, clinic business management, technology, and generational aspects that influence clinical and teaching interactions.
