Graduate Assistantship (STEM and Data) @ University Libraries

Overview: The Florida State University Libraries, in partnership with the School of Information, invites eligible Master’s and Ph.D. program students to apply for Graduate Assistantships in the University Libraries. The purpose of these assistantships is to provide graduate students with valuable, applied work experience that will enhance their classroom learning and their marketability to potential employers after graduation.

STEM and Data Graduate Assistant: The Florida State University Libraries’ STEM team is seeking applications for a graduate assistant who is eager to play a role in the development and implementation of library services that advance information literacy, data literacy, open data, and open science. The STEM GA will work closely with STEM and data librarians to develop services and programming related to research data management, data documentation, and data information literacy. This position will work closely with FSU Libraries and campus partners to coordinate and plan workshop series and events that advance the research and learning needs of FSU scholars.

Position Duties:
• Teaching and co-teaching workshops and instruction sessions related to research data management and data documentation
• Creating asynchronous and online learning objects related to open science and research data management
• Coordinating logistics for events and workshop series, which includes collaborating with library and campus partners
• Collaborating with members of the STEM team on projects and assignments related to data literacy, open data, and open science

Due to the in-person aspect of this position, it is not designed for fully remote graduate students who do not reside in Tallahassee.
