This position is located in FSU’s Innovation Hub, a state of the art facility for design and innovation with the latest technologies. The Hub provides students with training and access to 3D printing and other digital fabrication technologies, virtual and augmented reality technologies, coding, and innovation frameworks such as Design Thinking in a collaborative interdisciplinary 14,000 sqft. workspace. Responsibilities
We are seeking a responsible applicant to fill a part-time, evening shift position who will manage operations and supervise student interns primarily in the evenings, starting with Monday through Thursday 6PM – 10PM with possible schedule adjustments over time.
Responsibilities to include working at the front desk welcoming visitors, assisting with questions, providing tours of the space, maintaining a safe and clean facility, supporting special events and workshops, assisting with space reservations, all with the assistance of student interns.
An important additional responsibility is to close, lock and secure the facility at the end of the evening in a safe and orderly fashion according to well-defined procedures.
The successful candidate for this position will enjoy access to and training on Innovation Hub technologies and over time will serve to assist students in using the basic operations of all equipment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferably in a related degree which includes but is not limited to technology, design, innovation, information, management, hospitality, entrepreneurship, and communication.
Experience in management or supervision of others.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously
Ability to utilize problem solving skills.
Ability to convey technical information to technical and nontechnical users, including students.
Ability to effectively train and direct the work of others.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Preferred
Experience with makerspace/fablab technologies, VR Technologies, computing and information technologies.
Master’s Degree in progress or completed in related areas listed above.
Experience managing public spaces such as libraries, museums, etc.

Anticipated Salary Range
$10-14; commensurate with education and experience.

Criminal Background Check
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
