COMMUNICATIONS INTERN
Company/Organization Location: 317 E. Call Street, Tallahassee, FL 32301
Hours per week: 10 to 15 hours/week
We are looking for communications and media production interns who can bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, creativity and a passion for the work we do to celebrate and support women and girls in our community.
We are a nonprofit organization in Tallahassee whose mission is to “improve the lives of women and girls through celebration and support”. We are focused on personal, professional, and economic concerns facing women, girls and their families.
Currently, we are working to implement a new branding and communications strategy including the design and development of a new website and new marketing and awareness materials—a project which will continue in to the fall semester.
Position Summary:
Communications interns will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of a new communications strategy for the agency. The Communication Intern will draft press releases; manage social media and email blasts; create flyers for events and, if the incumbent requires the necessary skills and tools, create video media for the promotion of the agency.
Scope and Impact:
Communications interns report directly to the Executive Director. This internship will give you an opportunity to hone your skills, help a good cause and build professional relationships in the local community.
Requisite Skills and Knowledge:
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who can successfully work both in a team and independently. Excellent written communication skills a must!
Compensation: This is an unpaid position. Experience may be used for academic credit.
