Winter/Spring Internship (Jan-May 2020)

ASP is looking for current or recently graduated students interested in hands-on public policy experience for full- and part-time internships. Interns will support ASP researchers and staff in multiple areas including communications, development, programming and research and will be responsible writing blog posts, event reviews, and contributing to reports when appropriate.

ASP’s internship program offers interns the opportunity to work with senior leaders across sectors and encourages participants to attend events in and around Washington, D.C that relate to their field of study. or interest. At the conclusion of the internship, outstanding interns may be eligible to remain connected to the organization as Adjunct Junior Fellows, when appropriate.

Energy Security

Nuclear Security

US-Russia Relationship

Asymmetric Operations

Public Diplomacy

Latin American Security

American Competitiveness/Trade

REQUIREMENTS:

Internships are unpaid, though a transportation stipend is provided and current students may arrange to obtain course credit for their work.

Applicants must be at least a junior in college, though preference will be given to recent graduates and graduate students. Strong writing skills are required, as is the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate should have an interest in our research agenda, national security and foreign policy issues, and be authorized to work in the United States. Experience in research, campaign organization and/or new media is highly desired.

Applicants must be willing to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, and be present in the ASP office 3 days per week.
