Job Description:

A member of the Foley Information Technology / Information Systems team that supports the needs of a manufacturing environment which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The information system analyst role includes:

  • Supporting the plant manufacturing execution information and controls system.
  • Provide support for Windows System administration, Server 2003 Clusters, Storage Area Networks and applications that comprise the manufacturing execution system (MES).
  • Provide support as a primary plant information system technical resource on projects related to the MES, process control systems or business improvement initiatives.
  • Involvement in planning and coordinating technology projects and other IT enablers to ensure that business goals or objectives, of the manufacturing environment, are accomplished.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Help ensure the availability, continuity, and security of data and information technology services for manufacturing environment.
  • Provide systems support for key business operational applications and associate hardware.
  • Provide system administration, monitoring and support to drive high operational reliability for systems hardware.
  • Carry out plans and activities pertaining to technology projects for a business area.
  • Works closely with the manufacturing end user community and others to understand and prioritize business goals in providing technology that addresses their needs.
  • Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides innovative solutions which meet the business needs.
  • Provides project management activities with business unit and provides technical advice.
  • Participates in the development of system requirements.
  • Develops and reviews project proposals or plans to determine timeline and procedures for accomplishing requirements.
  • Help refine conceptual system design requirements into the technical design.
  • Plan and coordinate activities such as installation and upgrading of hardware and software, programming and systems design, development of computer networks, and implementation of Internet and intranet solutions.
  • Works closely with the assigned user community to understand their business need and develop system requirements

 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (GPA 3.0 or better) in Computer Science, or Information Systems Management
  • 2+ years work experience in an Information Systems/Technology or Database Management Role
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, ability to work on a cross functional team
  • Coordinates project activities with business unit and provides systems related technical advice
  • Analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Self starter that can juggle and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Good oral and written communications with the ability to present and explain technical information
  • Strong technical expertise in Windows Server 2003- 2008, Windows SQL Server 2005 – 2008  and Database administration and SQL querying skills

 

  • Familiarity with current technologies (e.g. Microsoft Servers, Crystal Report,  SQL Server, C++, Microsoft Office application,  XML, HTML, Java, JavaScript, Visual Basic, VBA, VMware, HyperV, SharePoint Services and SharePoint Portal Server) and willingness to acquire skills in legacy technologies where necessary.
