Purpose of Position:

Under the direction of the Store Systems QA Manager, the IT Analyst plays a critical role in the testing and support oftesting in-store and guest facing technologies such as Point of Sale applications, Integrations, Back Office systems, Kiosks, DMBs, Mobile App, Delivery, etc. The IT Analyst works closely with Operations and Solutions Managers to understand business requirements and ensure delivery of quality solutions.  The IT Analyst ensures that quality solutions are aligned with business strategies and comply with organization’s application and development standards.

 

Day to Day Accountabilities:

  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Develop, document and maintain suite of end to end test cases; both manual and automated as tools become available (e.g. Eggplant automated software)
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members and stakeholders.
  • Execute test cases within strict project deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly communicate and report defects and verify defect fixes.
  • Review design spec/JIRA stories, develop test cases and execute them.
  • Identify bugs and enter it in JIRA and regress fixed bugs
  • Identify any potential quality concerns to broader project team/stakeholders.
  • Partner with vendors to isolate and replicate defects.
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating DBI lab systems.
  • Responsible for approving all new releases/patches/scripts.
  • Work closely with other QA team members and dev team to ensure a timely delivery.
  • Identifies and reports on relevant metrics to assess the quality of vendor deliverables, internal business requirements and the testing performed (prepare dashboards detailing quality of deliverables)

 

Project Accountabilities:

  1. Participate in the initiation and planning phases to understand project goals and requirements.
  2. Define QA Testing strategy per specific project.
  3. Help identify and resolve project–related risks and issues.
  4. Communicate testing progress to stakeholders and/or leadership on an ongoing basis throughout project.
  5. Ability to execute test plans and manage tight testing deadlines.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in IT or business
  • 2-4 years of progressive, relevant IT experience
  • Knowledge/experience with BackOffice, Integrations and POS (Point of Sale) systems
  • Experience with Product Management
  • Experience with Vendor Management
  • Practical experience in building business and technical requirements
  • Experience with writing and executing detailed test plans and test cases
  • Some project based travel required

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:

Position is 100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under office conditions.  Approximately 0-10% travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch. While performing this job the employee may be required to lift up to 40 pounds, stand for long periods of time in a restaurant and outdoor environment.
