Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and six years of experience. (Note: post-high school education may substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
  • Experience with applicable computer software to include InDesign, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and Illustrator or comparable software; computer assisted graphics and associated peripherals, digital cameras, and related equipment; and artistic and graphic layout techniques and art in a digital format.
  • Experience in analyzing and determining the most appropriate media for creation of graphic images.
  • Experience in web design.
  • Valid state of FL or GA Driver’s license or the ability to obtain.

Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, with focus on performing arts. Experience in the field of theatre, performing arts, marketing, and public relations. Knowledge of the overall theatrical production process; printing terminology and processes. Excellent writing skills. Previous post-secondary performing arts program work experience, including supervising students.

Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for the creation and design of original graphics using various types of computers and associated peripherals for the School of Theatre.
  • Creates computer generated art work, graphic symbols, still media, animation, and the website for the School of Theatre. Designs layouts, selects typeface, and formats for text materials, and consults with customers to determine final format. Creates media for use in a variety of formats including transfer to videotape, slide, overhead, printed pages, and other formats. Occasional off-campus travel required for procurement of supplies and to meet with marketing partners. On-campus transport of video recording equipment is necessary during production season.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the marketing office and works in cooperation with the Strategic Management Team. Assists with reconciling invoices and billings related to the operations of the marketing office. Monitors marketing budgets and assists with budget development.
  • Plans work and production schedules for graphic designs and computer publishing activities. May operate a digital camera and related equipment.
  • Trains and oversees students in the marketing and design of School of Theatre production season promotional materials.
  • Attends weekly production meetings, weekly staff meetings, and design meetings as scheduled by the Production Manager.
