Responsibilities

Assists in all aspects of implementing education events at WFSU and partner organizations featuring PBS programs. Collaborates with the engagement team to ensure the events run smoothly. Takes leadership role as assigned with the organization of volunteers and OPS staff at various venues including public schools. Works with our department leadership implementing various aspects of our communication strategic plan.

Works closely with our department leadership to implement and innovate around WFSUs Education and Engagement social media strategy, developing awareness, generating inbound social media traffic and encouraging WFSU/PBS product adoption. Creates relevant content as assigned and maintains relationships with parents, education professionals, volunteers and our community on multiple platforms. Creates current print publications, scripts, blogs and online content as requested.

Assist department management in developing grant reporting narratives and budgets. Compile data for use in monthly and annual reports required by CPB and other funding organizations as assigned. Includes documenting with video, photographs and anecdotal information to support our work.

Assist in the administering of surveys and pre/post- assessments that help determine the effectiveness of WFSU programs as they are implemented within school curriculums, afterschool programs, summer camp environments and special events.

Oversees the educational supplies and storage room. Ensures that all materials for events, programs, technology tools and books are prepared, organized and available for all education and engagement activities. Adhere to all Fire Marshall and WFSU Management safety standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience; or a high school diploma and six years of experience.

Ability to develop and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.

Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

Ability to maintain accurate records and retrieve files from active or archive sources.

Basic filing practices to include numeric and alphabetic systems.

Knowledge of the principles and practices of event planning and ability to coordinate, organize and evaluate meetings and/or events.

Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.

Knowledge of the standards, principles, trends, and practices of television and radio production.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Preferred

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles, and practices.

Anticipated Salary Range

$14.00/hour – $17.00/hour

Pay Plan

This is an OPS/temporary Job.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, up to 25 hours per week with hours and days to be determined based on the needs of the department.

Criminal Background Check

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, to include fingerprinting. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
