Public Relations Specialist

The Prospect is hiring a Public Relations Specialist

The American Prospect (Prospect.org), a nonprofit public policy magazine based in Washington, D.C., is in search of an enterprising individual who will own our audience engagement and public relations operations.

Responsibilities for this hands-on position are to coordinate, create and execute activities aimed at building readership and raising awareness of our content, projects and events; and to generate support for our fundraising with regard to outreach and publicity.

The ideal candidate will have plenty of experience in social media management and marketing, an enthusiasm for connecting with our audience, a passion for elevating political journalism, and an understanding of relevant communication law.

This position, which is remote for the foreseeable future as our D.C. offices remain closed, includes membership in the Washington-Baltimore News Guild/CWA. We are a small team with a big mission, to report and inform on Ideas, Politics and Power from a progressive perspective.
