Department – Controller’s Office – Student Business Services

This position serves on the technology team for Student Business Services, the office on campus responsible for the assessment and collection of tuition and other fees. Student Business Services processes student financial aid and refunds, invoices third parties for student accounts, serves as the University’s cashier, and collects monies on behalf of most campus offices. The majority of Student Business Services’ work occurs in the Campus Solutions system, a database product of PeopleSoft and Oracle.


This position serves as a functional analyst for the day to day operations of the web of systems that support Student Business Services.

The position analyzes and monitors assigned systematic processes and assists in the assessment of business processes, and makes recommendations to improve and enhance processes through the implementation of technological solutions. The position will work to document business processes, conduct user testing and training of staff, address information requests, and assist in the development of specifications for new functionality.

This position will oversee the day to day row and role level systematic security plans for Student Business Services by approving or denying access requests, documenting security procedures, developing new security protocols and performing quarterly audits to ensure security compliance.

Serves as a liaison with Information Technology Services and other campus stakeholders in the implementation of new technologies and development of training materials. Will assist with the implementation of upcoming major projects including campus CRM, document management, and forms workflow and automation.

Serves as an advisor to the director, program directors, and assistant directors on matters including interpretation of operational and technical procedures to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or other related degree and four years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma/equivalency and eight years of experience related to the duties of this position.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Ability to prepare, coordinate, and conduct workshops.

Experience collecting and compiling data using scientific processes.

Experience prioritizing, organizing and performing multiple work assignments simultaneously.

Experience communicating effectively verbally and in writing.

Experience with Oracle databases or related technologies, preferably Campus Solutions or other PeopleSoft products.

Experience reading/writing SQL.

Experience translating technical processes or requirements for end user consumption.
Anticipated Salary Range

The anticipated hiring salary for this position is in the $47,000.00-$48,000.00 range annually.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check. The background check will be conducted as authorized and in accordance with University Policy 4-OP-C-7-B11.
