Dr. Jaejin Lee has been promoted to Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Faculty Advancement. She began her new role on July 1, 2026.

Lee joined the College of Communication and Information (CCI) as a member of the School of Communication faculty in 2012. Lee says she is looking forward to working together to make the College even stronger and helping showcase the great work our faculty, staff, and students are doing.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to work more closely with our wonderful faculty and staff, alongside Dean Michelle Kazmer and our other deans and directors. I see my role as being here to serve and support our faculty and staff by listening to their career goals, helping them grow in their fields of study, and making sure they have enough resources and support they need to succeed,” said Lee.

Conversations about Lee taking over this role began last December. She steps into the role previously held by Dr. Richard Morris, who retired from FSU after nearly 40 years. Lee became interested in this role because she wanted to contribute more broadly to CCI and support faculty and academic programs.

Lee said, “I really enjoy working with people, and I see this role as an opportunity to help our faculty grow, support their work, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the College. I’m excited about the opportunity to learn, contribute, and work together with our leadership and faculty.”

Her position also focuses on academic affairs, with an emphasis on supporting faculty and academic programs at CCI. Lee believes that supporting faculty and strengthening academic programs help create a stronger academic environment where students can succeed.
