The College Welcomes New Faculty

The College of Communication and Information welcomes four new Faculty to our staff.

Summer HSummer Harlow (Assistant Professor) comes to CCI with a Ph.D. in journalism and a M.A. in Latin American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. She is a former newspaper journalist and blogger with 10 years of experience reporting from the United States and Latin America. Her research interests include new communication technologies, social media, alternative media, and many more.

Bruker

Malia Bruker (Assistant Professor) returns to Florida State University to join the CCI team. Malia graduated summa cum laude from Florida State University with a B.A. in Media Production. She went onto Temple University to earn her MFA in Film & Media Arts. Her honors include a Temple University Fellowship, the Ben Lazaroff Screenwriting Scholarship, the Diamond Screen Film Festival Screenplay Award, Best Documentary at the Florida State Media Production Film Festival, and Best Student Cinematography at the American Dance Festival.

Erin Ingvalson (Assistant Professor) joins the CCI team with a M.S. in Psychology and Ph.D. in Psychology from Carnegie Melon. She most recently worked as a Research Assistant Professor at Northwestern University in the field of Otolaryngology. Her research interests include speech perception, speech learning, individual differences, and many more.

 

IMG_6493Brian Graves (Assistant Professor) comes aboard the CCI team with a M.A. in Communication Studies and his Ph.D. in Communications Studies, both from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He’s previously worked for Georgia Southern University, North Carolina State University, and University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His research interests include media writing and production, cultural construction of knowledge, political economy of media, and more. He’s written, produced and directed numerous award-winning film, television, and new media productions.
