Dr. Marcia Mardis will be the keynote speaker at the School Librarians of Western New York (SLAWNY) conference on Friday, May 8, 2011. Her speech is titled “Who Are You? ‘Home Truths’, Possible Realities, and Opportunities for School Librarians to Thrive.” Mardis was the 2010 American Association of School Librarians (AASL) Service Award Winner.
Later on Friday, Dr. Mardis will present a “Digital Libraries to School Libraries” (DL2SL) workshop based on her current research.
On Saturday morning, May 9, Mardis and Dr. Nancy Everhart, her colleague at the FSU School of Library & Information Studies and president of the AASL, will participate in a panel discussion on technology and leadership.
