Job Description | FSU Student Internship
Background
The National High Magnetic Field Laboratory develops and operates state-of-the-art, high-magnetic-field facilities that faculty and visiting scientists and engineers use for research. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation and the state of Florida, the lab also has an educational mission. Via its onsite programs, partnerships and its web presence, the MagLab reaches tens of thousands of students, teachers and others every year year through its educational arm, the Center for Integrating Research and Learning (CIRL). Tasks
The lab’s public affairs department is revamping the lab’s website, moving from a static site to a content management system (Joomla!). The intern would assist our webmaster with various tasks related to site development.
Student Intern Hours
Hours will be set according to the academic requirements of Florida State University, needs of MagLab, and the intern’s schedule.
Skills Needed
- Ability to understand multi-dimensional arrays and objects in PHP and how to loop through them
- Ability to use joins in a SQL select statement
- General PHP syntax
- Simple javascript, jQuery
- Ability to research a problem and find a solution
- Solid working knowledge of HTML and CSS
