Richard Urban, Assistant Professor in the School of Information, presented at International Conference on Dublin Core and Metadata Applications in Dallas, Texas from October 8-11.
Urban, who wrote his dissertation on the Dublin Core 1:1 Principle, presented on the subject at his third DCMI conference. “I’ve attended DCMI 2008 in Berlin and DCMI 2010 in Pittsburgh,” shared Urban. “The conference is a wonderful mix of academic researchers and practitioners in cultural heritage and various industries.” Urban gave a presentation, The 1:1 Principle in the Age of Linked Data.
“[The conference] continues to be a valuable experience,” said Urban. “This mix lets attendees see the spectrum of problems and solutions, from deep theoretical issues to practical approaches to improving workflows or search on the Web.”
